National Signing Day: Conner Ansbro, GK, Signs with Fort Lewis College (NCAA-D2)

The Panther Creek High School community and soccer program has been buzzing with excitement as they celebrate the incredible achievement of one of their own: Conner Ansbro. This talented young woman, who has been the backbone of the women's soccer team as their varsity goalkeeper, signed her National Letter of Intent to attend Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. With dreams in her eyes and the world at her feet, Conner's journey is just beginning, and we can't wait to see her shine on the college soccer field.

For those who have had the privilege of watching Conner play, her dedication and talent as a goalkeeper are unquestionable. Throughout her time at PCHS, she consistently demonstrated her ability to make incredible saves, read the game, and lead her team both on and off the field. She helped lead her team to their first district playoff birth in 2022, the first year of the program. Her remarkable skills earned her the well-deserved title of UIL District 11-4A “2023 Goalkeeper of the Year” as well as “1st team All-District” player. Prior to transferring to PCHS, she was a 2 year varsity starter and the 2020 UIL District 9-5A “Newcomer of the Year” and “2nd Team All-District” for Lone Star High School, Frisco, TX.

But Conner's story doesn't end with her high school accolades. She's also made her mark in the North Texas club soccer scene, playing for both Triumph Futbol Club in The Colony, TX, and Kernow Storm based out of Waxahachie, TX. Her dedication to the sport is not limited to one team or location; it's a testament to her love for the beautiful game. These experiences have undoubtedly contributed to her growth as an athlete and will serve her well as she steps onto the college stage.

Fort Lewis College, nestled in the breathtaking San Juan mountains of Durango, Colorado. The college's women's soccer program is a NCAA Division II program, renowned for its commitment to excellence. The Skyhawks play in the highly competitive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Conner's journey is not only a testament to her hard work but also a source of inspiration for young athletes at PCHS and beyond. Her story shows that with talent, dedication, and a supportive community, dreams can become reality.

As Conner embarks on this new chapter of her life, we can't help but feel a sense of pride and excitement for her future. We have no doubt that she will continue to make her mark and that her determination will lead her to further success at Fort Lewis College. We'll be eagerly following her journey and cheering her on every step of the way.

Congratulations, Conner, and may your time at Fort Lewis College be filled with unforgettable moments, victories, and personal growth. You've already made your community proud, and the best is yet to come.
